Grand Hybrid

The Physics of a Perfect Note

Press a key on a grand piano and you set off a small chain reaction: hammer meets string, string meets soundboard, soundboard meets the room around you. Reproducing that chain digitally without losing its soul is the real challenge — and it's the one we've spent years solving.

Sampling That Captures the Whole Instrument

We don't just record a note at full volume and call it done. Each key on our source pianos is sampled at dozens of velocity layers, capturing the subtle shift in tone color as you play softer or harder. Sympathetic string resonance, damper noise, and the faint mechanical click of the action are all part of the recording — because silence between notes is never truly silent on a real piano.

Acoustic Resonance Modeling

Beyond sampling, our engine simulates how strings influence each other in real time — sustain pedal resonance, duplex scaling, and the way a chord blooms differently than three separate notes played in sequence. This modeling runs continuously, reacting to your playing rather than looping fixed samples.

Hybrid Action: Where Touch Meets Technology

The key bed itself uses genuine wooden components and a graded hammer mechanism borrowed directly from acoustic piano design, paired with optical sensors for precise, lag-free triggering.

  • Wooden keys with natural weighting and balance
  • Multi-point optical sensing for accurate dynamics
  • Escapement mechanism for authentic repetition feel
  • Adjustable touch curves to match your playing style
